What is a Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) training?
The two-day Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) training of The ITAM-Unit is a training developed by IAITAM (International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers). During this training you will become familiar with the discipline of Software Asset Management (SAM) in the broadest sense of the word. In addition, it is possible to take an online exam at the end of the training by which you can achieve the status of Certified Software Asset Manager.
For whom is a Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) training intended?
The IAITAM CSAM training is intended for both starting and experienced software asset managers. Are you not a software asset manager, but are you interested in software asset management or would you like to learn more about it? Even then you are free to join! The training will be particularly valuable for people working within the disciplines of software, IT and/or security. For example, managers in the field of software assets, IT, change management, IT security and cyber security. No specific prior knowledge is required for this training.

The topics discussed include the fundamentals and strategic value of SAM, operational, legal and financial aspects, best practices, SAM technology, software licensing, audits and contract negotiations. Besides, participants gain insight into the business case behind SAM, the relation between SAM and other IT disciplines (such as IT Service Management and IT Security) and into organizational processes around SAM. The training follows the IAITAM 12KPA framework and is given based on practical examples and cases.
